Albany Recreation and Parks Department
Albany Recreation and Parks Department’s Mission Statement:
The Department is to provide recreation with excellent, diverse, and comprehensive parks, facilities and programs in a well-maintained and safe environment, easily accessible to all citizens through a system of neighborhood and community parks, with well-trained and qualified staff.

2010 GRPA State Awards:
· Mike Daniel Award – Franessa Stalter
· Dorothy Mullins Arts & Humanities Award – awarded for “Family Day,” a program held jointly by the ARPD and the Albany Museum of Art.
· Adult Senior Section - Distinguished Professional – Clementine “Tee” Taylor.
The Albany Recreation and Parks Department also received the Training for Life Award given by Special Olympics Georgia.
2010 GRPA Third District Awards:
· 2010 Agency of the Year (Population 70,001 and over) – Albany Recreation and Parks Department
· Special Recognition (for outstanding support of recreation programs & events) – Pamela Green-Jackson, Executive Director, Youth Becoming Healthy
· Mary Roth Award for Recreation Programmers – Gloria Bridges, Recreation Supervisor
· D.L. Lastinger Award for Park Maintenance – Felicia Pitts, Equipment Operator III
· Volunteer of the Year (Population 70,001 and over) – Southwest Georgia Home School Association Key Club
· Outstanding Program Recognition:
o Albany Family Play Day – Innovative Special Event
o Summer Event Series – Innovative Program
