The City of Albany’s Community & Economic Development Department offers a series of training workshops to its subrecipients to help assist in the development and management of their nonprofits. This month’s training, Board Development for Your Nonprofit, was held on November 11, 2009, and was facilitated by a non-profit consultant, Ms. Harriet Hollis. Ms. Hollis used interactive exercises to stress the importance of having a good, effective board. Here is what some of our participants had to say:

These workshops are one of the many services offered by the Department, and they give our nonprofits an opportunity to receive professional training. Technical assistance is also available for our subrecipients throughout their funding year.
